JAEGER LeCOULTRE Polaris Date GREEN [next level green?]

JLC delivers a master class on green dials! In case it hadn’t yet grab your attention and throttled you like some sort of Triffid tendril, there’s been a silently proliferating trend within the watch industry that just won’t seem go away. And thank goodness for that because I don’t know about you but I’m always up for more green and this here folks is next level green; prepare to fall in love. We’ve encountered pretty much the entire gamut of watchmakers employing Mother Nature’s most alluring of hues for their latest and greatest, their nearest and dearest models; some attempts have been whole lot BETTER than OTHERS. But JLC has just thrown down the gauntlet, significantly upping the ante and showcasing all the eye-boggling, retinal refreshing possibilities that green offers in a watch dial. This Polaris Date comes with a lacquered; double-gradient dial with multiple textured finishes allowing it to put legibility at front and center without even the slightest aesthetic compromise. A balanced mix of opaline, grained and sun-rayed surfaces clearly defines each key dial segment, from the rotating inner diver’s chapter ring to the minute track. The color gradient ranges from light olive to verdant rainforest, taking on different shades according to the angle of reflected light. A coat of translucent lacquer brings mesmerizing depth to the dial, allowing the vanilla-tinted dial indexes to stand out with perfect clarity. This dial is so luscious that you might literally fall into it, get lost and never resurface. Measuring 42mm in diameter, the case of the Polaris Date remains subtle, thanks to its satin-finished surfaces, with polished chamfers on the case lugs and narrow bezel. It features a sapphire case-back, while being water resistant to 200m and for maximum versatility in wear, the Polaris Date comes with a green rubber strap that is equipped with a quick-change system. Within seconds, the strap can easily be swapped with a wide range of Jaeger-LeCoultre bracelets and straps with perfect compatibility. Meanwhile its heritage shines through in the vanilla-hued Super-LumiNova® indexes, suggestive of a well-aged aesthetic. Within the 42mm steel case beats the latest-generation Caliber 899, with 70 hours of power reserve. The Polaris Date is a Boutique Edition and will be available exclusively from Jaeger-LeCoultre e-commerce for a month. Thoughts? I haven’t even seen this in person but this dial is off the charts gorgeous. This is exactly way JLC is known as the watchmaker’s watchmaker.

But what do you think?
