PANERAI Submersible QuarantaQuattro Carbotech™ BLU ABISSO [out of my league]

This sexy Carbotech gets a new mid-size case made from Panerai’s high-tech Carbotech™ plus an abyss blue dial and matching accordion-style rubber diver’s strap.

You don’t need to be proficient in Italian to work out what QuarantaQuattro is all about; QuarantaQuattro is to 2022’s new Submersibles collection what quattro formaggi is to pizza!

It’s Panerai’s newfangled way of referring to a recently introduced 44mm case diameter for their dedicated Submersible diver’ watch family –

brand nomenclature , where by all new models moving forward will now receive their case-size designations in Italian; such as the Luminor Quaranta models.

Why? Well because QuarantaQuattro just sounds better than 44mm, doesn’t it!

Say hello to the Submersible QuarantaQuattro Carbotech™ Blu Abisso AKA PAM01232is the new which was introduced alongside several other QuarantaQuattro (44mm) Submersible models at Watches and Wonders 2022 in Geneva. Its new mid-sized 44mm case is of course executed from Panerai’s high-tech, high-performing carbon composite case AKA Carbotech™ as is its diver’s bezel. Meanwhile its case-back and winding crown (I think) is in black DLC-treated Titanium. Its dial is blu abisso AKA abyss blue with black-edged hands and markers with a white luminous area.

Powering the watch is an automatic mechanical, P.900 caliber, with 23 jewels, 28,800 alternations/hour, Incabloc anti-shock protection and a power-reserve of 3 days.

MSRP in Switzerland is CHF 17'400 incl. sales tax.

Thoughts? It’s a hard pass for me. Love the color but just not really giving an s, h, one, t, about these super expensive high-tech carbo cases anymore because truthfully they're out of my league but also because Titanium is already plenty good enough plus it's a lot more affordable whereas this is silly money.

But what do you think?
