GLASHÜTTE ORIGINAL SeaQ Panorama Date REED GREEN
Dive into the reeds with GO’s new go-anywhere diver’s watch!
Glashütte Original’s offshore diver’s watch, the SeaQ Spezialist shows off its onshore prowess with another new model presented in (landlubbing) REED GREEN.
Introducing the new SeaQ Spezialist Panorama Date in Reed Green! Sure green is considered the color of nature, the color of sustainability, of life and growth.
As this new version of the SeaQ Panorama Date demonstrates in a very stylish manner but green in essence is just a mightily fine color for pretty much any watch face, especially the SeaQ.
The latest version of the SeaQ Panorama Date is presented in a Stainless steel case with a generous diameter of 43.2mm.
The German manufacture’s signature Panorama Date is positioned at 4 o'clock, while the fluted unidirectional rotational diver’s bezel with its reed green ceramic inlay adds to the greenery.
Meanwhile, anchored in the case with a bayonet mount, is the manufacture’s 36-13 mechanical movement that is btw particularly shock-proof and boasts a power reserve of 100 hours.
The 36-13’s Si (silicon) balance spring is also impervious to the effects of omnipresent magnetic fields that could otherwise impact the precision-rate of lesser mechanical movements.
The entire movement is made and finished by hand in the at Glashütte Original ateliers in Germany.
Its stunning decorative finishes can be gazed upon through the Sapphire crystal case-back which despite offering window on the watch’s inner workings still ensures a pressure-resistance of 30 bar (300m).
Inside, protected by a scratch resistant Sapphire crystal that has anti-reflective treatment on both sides, the reed green dial backs hands, numerals and indexes coated with Super-LumiNova allowing them to glow brightly in the darkness.
Like any SeaQ the new Pan Date in Reed Green not only meets all the requirements set by the DIN 8306 and ISO 6425 standards for professional diver’s watches, has also completed a grueling 24-day series of tests – known as the Excellence TEST.
The new SeaQ Panorama Date in Reed Green comes with a rubber diver’s strap in dial/bezel matching reed green in addition to a Stainless steel link bracelet or ultra-robust military-style fabric strap.
It is available starting in March 2022 from official Glashütte Original Boutiques and selected authorized retailers worldwide.
Thoughts? I certainly appreciate the larger diameter that you get with the Panorama Date over other SeaQ’s, for sure, but I’m no fan of the massive date display or its placement.
I could still happily live with one despite the date – you know just cos’s it’s a GO.
So while this new SeaQ Panorama Date in Reed Green would certainly make an ideal companion on or off shore would you wear one over Swatch revival, the FIFTY FATHOMS?
And how would you rate the SeaQ against the FF? While GO is renowned for its movements Blancpain in no slouch in that department plus it has the entire FF provenance at its disposal.
Not such a tough choice really so as nice as the SeaQ is, for me I’d take an FF every time. But what about you?
