LeJOUR SEACOLT [the devil is in the dial]

LeJOUR have garnered a bit a reputation for themselves for their watch dials which boast all manner of specialist textures as well as being delivered in an array of uncommonly pleasing tones and shades;

this new model is no exception – so please allow the pictures to do most of the talking! Btw in case you hadn’t noticed the LeJOUR SEACOLT is back!

The folks at LeJOUR have revisited their classic diver’s model and given it a luxurious update befitting of the premium diver that it is and you guessed it, the devil is in the detail in other words, the dial. Indeed, the dial is an attention grabber however on closer inspection this new 3-hands Seacolt model which debuted just a few short years ago as a GMT diver has had it facial features enhanced with subtle touches of gold. Further accentuation of the Seacolt’s fine facial features comes from its gold handset and applied markers adding warmth and dare I say it an aire of opulence.

In addition to this, a gold diver’s bezel perfectly frames the Seacolt’s granulated face; itself offered in five ascetically pleasing shades from, black, grey or brown (my favorite) to green and blue.

Vintage inspired sword shaped hands and classic round indices filled with Swiss SuperLuminova take care of the legibility in low light conditions.

The Seacolt’s ergonomically designed, Tourneau-style case has been crafted using 316L Stainless steel, measuring 42mm in diameter with a 14mm height and a lug-to-lug length of 49mm – which imo is the absolute sweet-spot for this sort of watch. Sorry, folks I refuse to bow to these trends for sub 40mm. I’m a man and require and man’s (not a child’s) sized watch! The case is finished with a mix of satin brush and highly polished chamfered edges. The Seacolt comes with a stylish H-Link bracelet with solid end links as well as a sturdy diver’s clasp.

The case is topped by a highly domed Sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on its inner side, ensuring maximum scratch-resistance while evoking the Seacolt’s more nostalgic charms.

Meanwhile its easy gripping 120-click unidirectional bezel has been upgraded with a premium ceramic insert and engraved with 60-minutes dive-time scale.

The Seacolt also features a charming Seahorse motif deeply embossed onto its solid steel case-back, and is constructed for water-resistance up to a depth 200 meters. The new LeJOUR Seacolt 3-hands diver is powered by the reliable 26-Jeweled Sellita SW200, Swiss Made automatic movement renowned for its accuracy, dependability and longevity. Thoughts? Once again LeJOUR takes an old school design and takes it to the next level with one of their breathtaking dial finishes.

Meanwhile the subtle touches of gold on the dial and bezel give the watch a premium feel that is hard to find in Swiss diver at its modest price-point and one with a famous name on its dial to boot.

But what do you think?

  4. Overall I like the design. I'm not a fan of the warp in the crystal...just like the Rado Capt Cook. The brand name reminds me of the 1980's when everything was Le something.
