The last time Breitling decided to update their dedicated diver’s model, the Superocean (whose bloodline dates back as far as 1957) with –
a sporty yellow chapter ring was back in 2010 when the Superocean was relaunched after its biggest update in years – but to be honest it was a bit of a failure.
Despite having 1’500 meters of water-resistance, the watch lacked a proper diver’s bezel with a graduated dive-time scale and there was no lume on its 12hr marker, either. Breitling has since gotten their sh!t together and the current Superocean and its many iterations is a worthy successors to the OG model bearing the same name from the middle of the last century. Sporty, fresh and colorful, this special Superocean Automatic 42 features a simple black dial with said contrasting yellow minute scale. The online exclusive features a sturdy 42mm Stainless steel case and black dial with a colorful minute scale. Paired to a black rubber strap that fits a Stainless steel pin buckle, this fresh and sporty Superocean Automatic 42 is water-resistant up to to a respectable 500m or 50 bar.Power comes from a Breitling 17 self-winding mechanical movement with 25 jewel, power-reserve of approx. 38 hrs and a beat-rate of 28,800 v.p.h.
