ULYSSE NARDIN Diver Chronograph 44mm MONACO YACHT SHOW

After a year of absence owing to the pandemic, the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show made a return this September in the idyllic Port Hercules.

Among the, luxury boats and super yachts that debuted were one or two horological offerings –naturally of a nautical kind from the Ulysse Nardin Manufacture who has been an official sponsor the show for more than a decade.

The new Monaco Yacht Show Limited Edition watch is the new darling of UN’s Diver collection, an ultra-resistant, high-end, tool-diver that it is said to be able to withstand an attack from the most ferocious sharks (so UN says).

The Limited Edition is available in a series of just 100 pieces; it has a Sapphire case-back and is powered by a Manufacture UN-150 automatic movement with Si (silicium) and autonomy of up to 48-hours.

The watch has been enhanced with touches of red: from the bezel joint and the seconds hand, to the hands on the sub-counters and the date.

In addition, the “MONACO YACHT SHOW” stamp is also featured on the dial in red, right beneath the Ulysse Nardin logo.

The main case, the diver’s bezel and the signature UN element on the strap are all made from high-grade Titanium while the bezel has been clad in durable rubber.

The watch has all the features of a diver's watch: ultra-resistant Sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown, Superluminova on the 0, a rotating inverted bezel for optimal readability, even in the deepest waters, and water-resistance down to 300 meters.

Several strap options are available: rubber, metal or fabric with a Velcro fastener. MSRP is 11,300euros.

Thoughts? Elegantly purposeful – what an absolute beauty? But what do you think; UN or PAM?

  1. Looks good! Just drop the Monaco Y S and limited edition text. Perhaps "Monaco" or "Yacht" on the dial would make it less cluttered.

    1. Now that you mention that text does look a little bit clunky. Perhaps wrap it around one of the sub counters like on a previous edition.
