The Commies are coming!
Folks, in case you hadn’t already noticed we’ve just moved into a whole new cold war era – nobody likes a war – hot, cold or otherwise but global military expenditure for 2020 was the highest it’s been since the end of the 80s.
China has been rapidly expanding and modernizing its military at an alarming rate – so it might be time to dust off that plan for a nuclear fallout shelter, the one that hasn’t seen the light of day since the days of Glasnost and Perestroika –
or at the very least, perhaps it’s time to get yourself a nice military inspired diver’s watch, you know just in case sh!t really does go down with the Commies.
Talking of which, Swiss watch brand, Breitling who know or thing or two about making military watches have just enlisted their latest recruit in stealthy DLC-coated Titanium and with a very handsome mil. green dial with stenciled indexes for an authentic look. Bold, extremely robust and shock-resistant, this new Avenger Automatic GMT 45 Night Mission features a lightweight Titanium case and an additional yellow hand indicating a second time zone. The Night Mission interpretation of the Avenger Automatic GMT 45 features a sturdy 45mm DLC-coated Titanium case with 300m of water-resistance, a green dial and a green-colored military leather strap that fits either a DLC-coated Stainless-steel pin buckle or folding clasp.
Its specific Arabic numerals recall the stenciled numbers used on the decks of aircraft carriers such as those that are on their way (as we speak) to the South China Sea to conduct FON (freedom of navigation).
Power btw comes from a Breitling 32 self-winding mechanical movement with a 2nd time-zone (24 hr) and a power-reserve of approx. 43hs.
Limited to just 2000 pieces, the new Avenger Automatic GMT 45 Night Mission watch has an MSRP in the UK of 4,040GBP.
Like this? You might like its older brother, too - the Avenger Chrono 45 NIGHT MISSION.
Thoughts? Military watches are hot right now – OceanicTime has two special military editions in the works; stay tuned for more on those, soon but in the meantime what do you think of this Breitling?
And what are your thoughts on mil.-style black cases that have been paired with green dials – is this perfection for you too?
Tuve hace años un navitimer y me dio buenas sensaciones. Los relojes militares con esfera verde oliva me gustan en formato digital. Para una guerra nadie ofrece tantos recursos como un buen Casio G-Shock digital de acero o titanio. Mi opinión.
