HAMILTON Khaki NAVY SCUBA [bigger and BETTER]

Sun-ray dials are so passé!

Look it isn’t me saying that, it’s the watch industry messing with us cos’ they want us to keep buying new sexier iterations of the same old watches.

Actually I love a good sun-ray dial as much as the next man but if it’s a tossup between a fancy granulated / sandpaper textured dial – I’ll go sand grain all day long.

It’s one of the things that got me excited about one of my grail watches back in the day, that and the 3’000m depth-rating and the dual HEVs – can you guess what it was?

Needless to say, Hamilton have decided to give their mid-range diver, the Khaki Navy Scuba a bit of an update for 2021 with the inclusion of a new textured dial – and it looks really good!

Accompanying the new grain-finished dials are combination circular and triangular applied markers (3, 6, 9 and 12), narrower white minute tracks, and for an even more diver-centric aesthetic they have thoughtfully removed the date window – woo hoo!

In addition to the lovely new dial finish and layout is a color-coded (to the dial) ceramic bezel inlay which tops a new larger diameter Stainless steel case measuring 43mm with a thickness of 12.6mm.

Not only this but that bigger case gets more water-resistance, too so is certified up to 300 meters thanks to some extra case reinforcement and better gaskets as well as a thick Sapphire crystal.

Finally powering the bigger and better Khaki Navy Scuba is an ETA-based automatic caliber running at 4Hz – also boasting Nivachron balance spring and an 80-hour power reserve.

The 2021 Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba watches will be available as of June 2021 with an MSRP of approximately 1,000USD.

Thoughtss? These are a vast improvement over the existing models. The black dial on rubber looks pretty damn good - what do you think?

  3. Bravo to Hamilton for upping the water resistance, the GP with the double HEVs is total foolishness, Because one useless item was not enough!? True be told I do own one and could live without either on the watch.
