DOXA SUB 300 Aquamarine

Doxa has once again kissed one of its historical diver’s collections with a rainbow. Yes, now the SUB 300 family is more colorful than a pride parade.

For the uninitiated, each of the 6 colors available for the SUB 300 family has a corresponding, historic Doxa name.

So that’s: Aquamarine – not actually aquamarine but turquoise, Caribbean - blue, Divingstar – yellow, Professional - orange, Searambler – silver and Sharkhunter in black.

Doxa launched their SUB concept in 1967; at the time it was considered to be one of the first truly diver-centric designed watches that were made available to the public.

The Doxa SUB was said to have been innovating watch that set several benchmarks for professional diver’s watches.

Water-resistant to a depth of 300 meters, it was the first to feature a unidirectional bezel with dual scales for depth and dive-time to calculate a safe ascent without decompression stops.

But most radical was its now iconic orange dial which greatly improved readability underwater. Which is probably why not surprisingly orange is already SOLD OUT!

Today’s SUB 300 is based on 42.5mm case made from surgical-grade 316L Stainless steel.

Its three-hand automatic movement is a COSC Certified Chronometer and so comes with their guarantee of precision, robustness and reliability.

It also provides a 38hrs of power-reserve and has a date window positioned at 3 o'clock.

The watch of course features a famous Doxa patented unidirectional diver’s bezel with dual indications for dive-time in mins. and depth in meters for calculating no-stop decompression dive-times, just like its ancestors

Further diver’s features include: a screw-down crown and water-resistance rated to 300 meters, or approximately 980 feet.

As a nod to its heritage, today’s SUB 300 is topped with a domed Sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment echoing the shape of the Plexiglas on the 1967 original.

All dive-related markings feature a SuperLumiNova luminescent coating affording readability even in low-visibility conditions.

The 2020 SUB 300 can be specified with either Doxa’s iconic BOR (beads of rice) Stainless steel bracelet or one of Doxa’s newly designed rubber diver’s straps, with its distinctive DOXA cues on both sides, to match the color of the dial.

The folding clasp features the exclusive DOXA fish symbol and has an adjustable diving extension to accommodate the thickness of a wetsuit with the stainless steel bracelet.

The underside of the rubber strap is has ventilation / drainage ribs. MSRP is 2’490USD.
