Here’s an upmarket Sumo for an upmarket for ya’!
With its gold accented bezel and handset, this Limited Edition Sumo of just 700 pieces was made for the Seiko flagship store which can be found in Tokyo’s swanky Ginza district.
The watch is based on a Stainless steel case with a: 45mm diameter, 12.9mm height, lug-to-lug of 52.6mm. The case is water-resistant to 200 meters.
Btw, while the case appears to have a DiaShield finish, there’s no mention so can’t be sure.
Further diver’s features include: anti-magnetic resistance, a screw-down case-back and crown. The case-back gets a Ginza LE engraving plus serial number.
The unidirectional diver’s bezel boasts a matte black inlay with a golden dive-time scale. The hands and hour markers are with Seiko LumiBrite.
Power comes from a Seiko Japan Cal. 6R35 automatic movement with 24 jewels and an accuracy of +25 to -15 seconds per day.
JDM ref. SBDC114 has a price tag of 90,000 JPY (excl. tax) 99,000JPY (with tax).
Thoughts? They should have gone a bit further with the gold and done the nappy (mawashi-esque 12hr marker) and framed the date window in gold, too.
