Seiko gives the humble Turtle its biggest upgrade since – well, at least since its last upgrade whenever that was.
In fact the Seiko faithful feel that this upgrade is so significant that they have gone as far as dubbing, nay crowning this new Turtle, the King Turtle.
The new regal Turtle has been bestowed with several considerable upgrades that include: a Sapphire crystal with magnifier over the day-date, a diver’s bezel with ceramic inlay and a hobnail-style / tiled dial à la AP or PP.
There are three new kingly references: SRPE03K1 which is with a classic black dial and bezel inlay. It comes on a steel bracelet priced approx. 670USD.
Then we have SRPE05K1 with Khaki green dial, black ceramic bezel inlay and color-matched Khaki green rubber diver’s strap. It has and MSRP of approx. 650USD.
Finally SRPE07K1 which is a “Save the Ocean” models so gets a special 3D wave-pattern dial with écru-colored lumed hands and hours. It has an MSRP of approx. 650USD.
In every other respect these new Turtles are like any other Turtle so their 45mm Stainless steel cases are water-resistant to 200m and house a Seiko Japan Caliber 4R36.
Thoughts? Nice upgrades but they come at a premium, not quite a king's ransom (get it?) but still quite dear for a Turtle, king or not.

Will there be more variants?
