RADO Captain Cook BRONZE

In addition to their ever growing Stainless steel Captain Cook collection, Rado has jumped on a familiar bandwagon for 2020 with a trio of new Captain Cook models in you guessed it, bronze!

The new bronze models are based on the Captain Cook 42mm that has 300 meters of water-resistance. There are some (also new for 2020) 42mm models with 200M.

As such case material aside the Captain Cook Bronze has the same specifications, so gets an automatic movement with up to 80 hours of power-reserve.

In addition to the new 200m models, Rado has also added a trio of 37MM Captain Cooks. These comes on Rado’s new bead of rice bracelet.

The bronze collection includes 3 models with either; blue, brown or green sunburst dials and color-coded bezels.

The new Rado Captain Cook Bronze comes on a hand-stitched leather strap in its corresponding dial color. It has an MSRP in the UK of £2,415.

Thoughts? Diver’s watches generally lend themselves very well to BRONZE, particularly vintage inspired models.

Imo the Captain Cook works very well in Bronze - a perfect match, but I would have preferred Rado to have based it on their 200m variant which has a slightly cleaner dial.

What do you think? Are you a fan of bronze or do you think diver’s watches are best left in classic steel?

  1. I think this is the first time Swatch has ever touched bronze. I am beyond excited for what the future may hold.
