Oris release their first ever solid gold diver’s model – a Limited Edition solid 18K Yellow Gold GMT diver based on the Aquis GMT DATE.
Taking its name from Carysfort, a coral reef located within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary –
this is the Aquis Carysfort Reef Gold LE made in celebration the 30'000 planted corals to date in partnership with the Coral Restoration Foundation in Florida.
The solid 18K case measures 43.5mm and is water-resistant to 300 meters. Power comes from an Oris 798 (base SW 330-1) automatic movement with GMT and Date.
Special features of the watch include: a Radiant Blue dial, a special blue case-back insert with a coral buds and 30k text etc.
The Aquis Carysfort Gold is a Limited Edition of 50. 3 pieces will be donated to the Coral Restoration Foundation.
The watch comes on a rubber-coated blue leather strap with a solid 18K Yellow Gold buckle.
It is delivered in a special luxury wooden presentation box, limited to 50 pieces and is priced 19’000USD. Availability from April 2020.
Thoughts? It’s for a good cause at least but otherwise I’m not really down with solid gold; at from a financial point of view. ;)
