ULYSSE NARDIN Lady Diver GREAT WHITE & Alessia Zecchini

Ulysse Nardin has unveiled a new series of diver’s watches made exclusively for women, finally breathing new life into its Lady Diver collection some twelve years after the launch of its first ladies diver’s watch.



And to ensure that the collection creates enough of a splash, UN has called upon another sort of “lady diver”, Alessia Zecchini, free-diving champion and first female Ulysse Nardin, brand ambassador.



Born June 30, 1992 in Rome, Italy; Alessia is a world-class free-diver who has set world and Italian records in free diving.



Alessia began free-diving when she was just thirteen. At 16 she took her first formal course in apnea diving at the Apnea Blu Mare Society but, according to federal rules, had to wait until she was 18 before officially entering into competition.



She is the current world record holder in Constant Weight Apnea (CWA) an astonishing 113 meters (the deepest woman in the world) and Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS) world record holder in Dynamic Apnea having reached 250 meters.



She has won 16 Gold Medals in the World Championships and holds twenty-five world records in almost all the disciplines of free-diving.



Including champion free-diver and world-record apnea holder, Alessia’s Limited Edition watch, UN’s new Lady Diver collection is four models strong.



Alessia has already taken her new talisman, the UN Lady Diver Great White Limited Edition of 300 pieces for a spin proving that this Lady Diver is not just for looks.



With touches of elegance, this new series has been designed to have a bold feminine identity while calling upon UN’s expertise in the field of nautical and diver’s watches.



The 39mm in diameter Stainless steel, Great White Lady Diver is the female counterpart to the men’s Diver GREAT WHITE.



Sleeker and more discreet, the new Lady Diver has been created in three iconic colors: deep blue, intense black and mother-of-pearl. A special model in light grey – the Great White –



will be made in a Limited Edition of just 300 pieces. The first three models will be stamped with a wind rose on the back while the Great White features a female apnea diver on its case-back.



Like its men’s’ equivalent, the Lady Diver has a domed crystal and a concave unidirectional diver’s bezel.



For ladies who prefer something with a little more bling, the new Lady Diver series comes with the option of a 40-diamond bezel, each one a generous 1,7 mm in diameter (0.92 Carats).



All models get an in-house UN-816 caliber, an automatic mechanical movement with Si (silicium) technology.

Swiss MSRPs are as follows: Great White - 7’900 CHF, Mother of pearl -10’800 CHF, Blue - 10’800 CHF, Black & Rose gold - 14’900 CHF.



Thoughts? Ladies dive watches typically come with subpar levels of water-resistance and a quartz caliber – not in this case! I can only speak for the Great White variant –

it’s a lovely looking lady diver that my missus would love. I dig the grey and those pops of blue are super nice, the case-back is damn cool, too. Alessia Zecchini is as awesome as she is beautiful!
