LUMINOX Sport Timer 30th Anniversary 0900 SERIES

I think I might have more pics than words, so I’ll do my best to tell you about this new model from Luminox without too much waffle.

This is the Sports Timer 0901, Luminox’s 30th Anniversary Limited Edition watch.

I’m not sure what the significance of the unit number is, but just 730 pieces are available, worldwide.

The design of the watch is vintage inspired; details such as the syringe-style hands and coin-edged bezel are combined with modern elements such as Luminox’s-

signature oversized circular 12hr bezel marker and of course the use the brand’s 25 years-long-lasting LLT illumination technology.

The LLT sees green Night Vision Tubes on the hands and hour markers while contrasting orange tubes are used for the min-hand, 12hr marker as well as the bezel 12hr marker.

Basic spec. includes a Stainless steel case measuring 42mm in diameter by 12mm thick and a Swiss Quartz caliber.

Unusually for a Luminox Quartz model, the Sports Timer 0901 is fitted with a Sapphire crystal. This has an anti-reflective coating on its inside.

Diver’s features include: a screw-down case-back and crown, a unidirectional rotational diver’s bezel, a Super-LumiNova green seconds indicator, and 200m of water-resistance.

The crown is safely nestled between an integrated crown-guard and is signed with the brand’s logo while the case-back gets a special star motif.

Proudly stamped in the center of the star is a ‘’30 YEARS’’ text which is flanked either side with 1989 -2019.

The Sports Timer is delivered on a choice of dark brown webbing strap or a Stainless steel 3-link bracelet with diver’s security clasp.

Thoughts? My initial thoughts were – wot, no auto for a 30th anniversary model then I remembered that Luninox are primarily a Quartz brand.

I really like the looks; the overall styling reminds me somewhat of a North American competitor of Lumniox, the brown NATO really makes it imo. What do you think?
