BREITLING Superocean OUTERKNOWN & OUTERKNOWN STRAPS

Breitling continues its partnership with sustainable clothing brand, OUTERKNOWN with the launch of a special khaki Superocean as well as a brand-new ECONYL® strap collection.

Outerknown was co-founded by surfing legend and Breitling Surfers Squad member, Kelly Slater.

Previously the Superocean Héritage II Chronograph 44 Outerknown was released along with a new NATO strap constructed from ECONYL® yarn, itself made from regenerated nylon material one source of which is abandoned fishing nets from the ocean.

In addition to the new Superocean Outerknown watch, Breitling has introduced its first Outerknown ECONYL yarn, NATO strap collection that boasts 6 colors and 4 sizes.

Those six colors are: blue with dark blue stripes and lining, light blue with dark blue stripes and lining, yellow with orange stripes and lining, gray with black stripes and lining, red with black stripes and lining, and green with black stripes and lining.

The straps come with Breitling signed buckles and keepers which are available in two finishes: Stainless steel and black DLC-coated Stainless steel. The four different size options range from 18 to 24 mm.

While the straps were designed specifically for the new Superocean collection, they could of course be paired with any Breitling watch. The green and black for my Seawolf, please!

The Outerknown ECONYL® yarn NATO straps will be available exclusively through Breitling’s authorized e-commerce platforms, where customers can first configure a Breitling watch with one of the innovative, environmentally responsible new straps before deciding to purchase it.

BTW I am not sure on pricing but if these are inline with Omega's NATOs they could be as much as a couple of hundred dollars a pop!

Now to the watch, the Breitling Superocean Outerknown features a 44mm Stainless steel case with a ratcheted unidirectional diver’s bezel.

It has a rather good-looking khaki green dial with central hour, minute, and second hands that, like the numerals and indexes, are coated with SuperLumiNova.

The Superocean Outerknown is powered by a Breitling Caliber 17, which offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.

Like all current SO models, the COSC-certified chronometer SO Outerknown is water-resistant to 100 bar/1000 meters.

Finally the watch’s screwed-down Stainless steel case-back is engraved with the Outerknown logo.

Naturally, this new Superocean Outerknown watch is presented on one of the lovely new Breitling Outerknown ECONYL NATO straps.
