Actually it didn’t go anywhere; this 3’000 meter water-resistant diver has been a mainstay of Breitling’s Aeronautical collection since 2006,
when it debuted with an all-Titanium case. Since then this deep diving watch has been constructed from Stainless steel.
For 2019 the Seawolf once again looks to this lightweight, aerospace material. For the special Night Mission watch it’s the entire case which is Titanium and DLC-coated.
However for the Auto 45, owing to its special hypoallergenic properties, and its high-tensile strength Titanium has been chosen for the case-back where it will be a robust yet comfortable addition to the Seawolf.
The Breitling Avenger Automatic 45 Seawolf forms part of a Breitling’s classic pilot’s watch collection, but also has features that make it ideally suited for diving.
Its 45mm Stainless steel case has a unidirectional ratcheted bezel and a screwed Titanium case-back.
Its self-winding Breitling Caliber 17 mechanical movement has a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
This deep diving aviator gets the Seawolf signature yellow dial and comes with either an anthracite leather military strap with a pin or folding buckle or with a Stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp.
Its hands and indexes are coated with SuperLumiNova, so that it’s easy to read no matter where you choose to take it. It is also has substantial water-resistance to 3000 meters.
The Avenger Automatic 45 Seawolf Night Mission has a 45mm case made of DLC-coated Titanium, a material chosen for its robustness and lightness of weight.
The watch’s unidirectional ratcheted bezel and screwed case-back are also made of Titanium.
This deep diving military inspired aviator has a black dial and comes with an anthracite leather military strap with a pin or folding buckle.
Like all Breitling watches, every Avenger Automatic 45 Seawolf is a COSC-certified chronometer.
Thoughts? It’s good to see a recognizable Seawolf continue return for each new generation. The updates are usually subtle. Tbh without carefully comparing I couldn't tell you,
but this year’s Night Mission variant with its khaki stenciled indexes and stealthy DLC-coated Ti case makes a very bold statement – I love it! How bout' you?
