But it is what it is and for anyone looking for a fun quartz diver, the Abbisso 100ATM from Strumento Marino might provide a good deal of enjoyment.

If that’s you; then keep reading along for the full break down on this controversial looking diver but if you feel outraged (there does seem to be a lot of outrage these days) then take solace in these pics of my beautiful PROPLOF.

The Abisso has a large 46mm in diameter by 17mm thick case made from Stainless steel. There are two case finishes available: stain finished or possibly a black IP coating. If it was DLC they would surely say.

The case is fitted with a knurled diver’s bezel, an HEV and said device on the left lateral side of the case (possibly a functioning bezel lock or perhaps the HEV in disguise, I don’t know).

Further diver’s features include: a screw-down case-back and guarded crown as well as 1000 meters of water-resistance. There is no mention of the crystal quality so we should assume that it’s mineral in this instance.

Power comes from Miyota Cal. 2415 Quartz movement. Four references are offered – the blue ones are kinda’ cool in truth but these aren’t really my cuppa’ tea. MSRP is an optimistic 499euro which includes shipping.
