For starters the Stainless Damascus Steel used for the Kalmar Damaststahl is exactly what it says it is – Stainless; therefore processing those key properties such as its high-tensile strength and corrosion-resistance; it is as different to Damascus Steel as Inox Steel is to regular Mild Steel.
Manufactured by only a handful of experienced knife-makers in the world, the specialized steel (prized for the beautiful details that lie in the contrast between its many layers), has been used for all the Kalmar Damaststahl’s components.
Its main-case, bezel, case-back, even its buckle has been made from hand forged Stainless Damascus Steel.
And because it is based on the Kalmar 2, it has boasts an abyssal 3000 meters of water-resistance along with all the other features that make the Kalmar 2 such a proficient dive watch.
The Kalmar Damaststahl comes on a handmade black Lizard Skin strap (tapering from 30-24mm) with black stitching on a hand forged Stainless Damascus Steel CNC buckle, priced 3499 Euro.
A total of just 20 pieces of the H2O Kalmar 2 Damaststahl have been produced! All Kalmar 2 dials and handsets from H2O’s visual configurator are available.
