DAVOSA Argonautic BRONZE Ltd. EDITION

So this is how you properly pimp a watch! This is Davosa’s debut bronze diver, a model which we previewed HERE and that we now know is available as two versions.

You could say that Davosa are a little late to the BRONZE party, a party which some say was just a passing fad but in fact appears to be a growing (albeit niche) trend that is here to stay.

The Argonautic Bronze hasn’t just taken the regular steel (42mm x 13.5 mm) Argonautic and given it a new bronze case; it has dialed up the whole aesthetic of the watch a good few notches.

The Limited Edition of just 300 pieces boasts special features such as: a ceramic bezel inlay and a texturized dial with massive old radium-style SLN markers and matching handset and date-frame.

Then there’re the contrasting black PVD case components which include; bezel, screw-down crown, case-back and serial number pate.

The case-back sports a familiar dive watch motif, à la old school deep sea diver’s helmet which is apt considering these were historically made from bronze.

Divers features include: an AR-treated Sapphire crystal, a ceramic diver’s bezel, a manual Helium Escape Valve (10 o’clock) and 300m of water-resistance.

The DAVOSA Argonautic Bronze LE is powered by a Swiss made Sellita SW200 precision automatic movement.

The Argo Bronze LE comes on a specially coated strap for use in water. The 22mm strap is made from a combination of black leather and fabric and comes on a black PVD steel buckle.

The DAVOSA Argonautic Bronze Limited Edition comes in a presentation case made from varnished wood with a really cool matching bronze tag and a not so cool price-tag of 1200 euros!

Thoughts? While the base Argonautic is a little generic, Davosa have gone someway to making the watch look special, the bronze edition imo takes this to the next level. It's pricey, though.
