Here’s a look at a new diver from RADO. Ref. 764.6030.3.117 AKA –
the RADO Tradition Captain Cook MIII Automatic has a distinct 70s style with a classic tonneau-shaped case in sand-blasted Titanium, measuring 46.8mm by 48.3mm by 13.9mm.
Divers features include: an inner unidirectional rotational timing-ring, operable via the crown at 2 o’clock and 220 meters or 770 feet of water-resistance.
I’m not sure if the 220 or 770 has any historical significance nor the special wave-pattern engraved case-back with its 3 seahorses and 3 stars, but they’re nice.
Further features of the watch include a black sunburst dial with and yellow and white accents.
The dial is covered by an old school box-shaped Sapphire crystal and a black fabric strap with white contrast-stitching.
Power comes from an automatic ETA C07.621 caliber, based on ETA 2836-2, but with an increased power-reserve of 80hrs.
The watch can be purchased from exclusively from Macy’s in the US and from RADO dealers worldwide as October. Its MSRP is 2550USD.
Thoughts? Bead-blasted Titanium, increased power-reserve, quirky WR and cute lil’ seahorses and stars, what’s not to like?! ;)
