ORIS has extended its Aquis family of high-performance diver’s watches to include a new 39.5mm case variant.
Of recent years, the Oris Aquis Date has been one of the most recognizable watches in the Aquis collection.
While Oris do offer a couple of non-diving divers like the SIXTY-FIVE or Carl BRASHEAR models that might traditionally be better suited to business attire –
the Aquis watches have always been divers first and foremost so perhaps they weren’t getting enough shirt ‘n’ cuff time.
This new 39.5mm version should be a little more versatile allowing it to transition from the outside of a neoprene wetsuit to underneath the cuff of a business shirt.
Or simply for anyone who appreciates a more modest sized diver.
The new Oris Aquis Date 39.5mm sits alongside the larger 43.5mm version of the iconic diver’s watch and is available with either a black or blue dial.
The blue-dialed 39.5mm Oris Aquis Date comes on a blue rubber strap, a Stainless steel metal bracelet, or a dark brown leather strap, as seen here.
This might be the first Aquis I’ve seen on leather?
The Stainless steel metal bracelet is tapered so it wraps comfortably around the wrist but if you want a sportier feel, then opt for the rubber strap.
Basic spec. includes: an automatic movement with sweep seconds and date, a Sapphire crystal, a ceramic divers bezel and 300 meters of water-resistance.
The new collection comes with a choice of matte or polished black ceramic bezels. Swiss retail price 1750CHF on a strap, or 1950CHF on Stainless steel bracelet.
As always – can’t get enough of the blue especially with brown leather – so nice!
