Here’s a new micro-brand called Komrade Watches from New Zealand that I discovered on Facebook. The White Pointer is the newest divers model to from the Kiwi brand
– if you hadn’t already guessed the watch takes its name from the Great White’s local moniker, White Pointer which can be seen gnashing its dagger-like teeth on the caseback.
The White Pointer has a 44mmm in diameter case which is equipped with all the usual divers features:
an anti-reflective coated Sapphire crystal, screw-down caseback and crown, a unidirectional rotational divers bezel, a Helium Escape Valve and 1000 meters of water-resistance.
The dial of the White Pointer can be had in one or two colors that include: black and blue. There are a number shown – however I’m not exactly which colors will make it to production.
The dial has a wave-pattern with a cute li'l Kiwi bird logo (in case you were in any doubt of its heritage is characterized by it massive white hour-markers which along with the hands are in BGW9 SLN.
Power comes from a Swiss ETA 2836-2 automatic movement. It comes on black silicone divers strap with a brushed steel buckle priced 899USD.
Follow the link embedded, below for more info. on pre-orders. BTW the White Pointer is scheduled to ship this September.
