ETERNA KonTiki Diver GENT

Taking inspiration from ETERNA’s historical divers watch from the 1970s, the new KonTiki Diver Gent is equipped with a distinctive ratcheting divers bezel topped off with a scratchproof engraved ceramic inlay.

The ceramic inlay is marked out with an old school-style US Navy developed ‘’No Decompression’’ Table with the depths and their corresponding ‘’No Deco Limits’’ which were used out in order to determine how many minutes a diver could safely spend at each depth on route to the surface.

So long as the minute hand was correctly lined up with the bezel’s 12hr marker, a diver following these tables could avoid having to pause for decompression during an ascent thus avoiding the dreaded bends.

The bezel sits on top of a combination polished and brushed Stainless steel case with a generous 44mm in diameter by 12.20mm thick. It sealed tight by a screwed-down crown and caseback, and is pressure tested to 20 bar, the equivalent of 200 meters of depth.

The KonTiki Diver Gent is equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement, the Sellita SW200 caliber with 26 jewels and a power-reserve of 38 hours.

A scratch-resistant Sapphire crystal protects the watch’s matte dial – available in either black or blue, it sports the same distinctive triangular luminous markers that have appeared on the ETERNA KonTiki dive watches since the 1960s.

The black and blue dial versions of the KonTiki Diver are available on either color –coded rubber divers straps with folding and locking diver’s clasps, or a polished and brushed Stainless steel bracelet.

The ETERNA KonTiki Diver Gent’s Swiss retail price is 1790CHF on rubber or 1890CHF on steel. Liked this? Check out ETERNA’s 3902A Cal. powered KonTiki Diver BRONZE.
