DELMA has created a brand new nautical / divers’ watch collection based on the SHELL STAR which has been given a new look and host of new features that were inspired of the world of offshore yacht racing.
The new Delma Oceanmaster collection combines the Swiss brand’s 90 years of watchmaking experience with the IMOCA Ocean Masters, where the world’s best sailors compete at the highest level as they race across the waves.
In their role as the Official Timekeeper of the Transat New York to Vendée Race, Delma worked closely with the world’s best skippers to design the Oceanmaster.
With their invaluable input Delma were able to create a watch to weather the storms, stand up to the rigors of one of the globe’s toughest sailing races while providing its wearers with all the information that they need to compete.
With the capable Shell Star diver as a base, Delma added vital navigation features, including a nautical bezel and a tactical planner to time and position the crossing of the starting line, to the watches of their new Oceanmaster collection.
Whether you are sailing the rough seas or exploring the depths beneath them, the Oceanmaster is endowed with all the necessary design elements and features to help you achieve optimal performance.
Equipped with the robust housing of the Delma’s Shell Star divers’ watch, the Oceanmaster Automatic is water-resistant to an impressive 500 meters while the Quartz and Chronograph models are water-resistant to 200m.
Sporting a new Delma-embossed genuine rubber divers strap or stainless steel bracelet, both the Automatic and Quartz 3-hand models feature a very visible date at 6 o'clock.
The Quartz versions display a distinctive offshore racing-designed back, while the Automatic affords a view of its decorated automatic movement that powers it – much like the Shell Diver Auto.
The Oceanmaster Chronograph takes timekeeping to a new level, offering all the features and robustness of the 3-hand model, while also featuring a Chronograph with a highly visible red-colored central seconds hand and a 30-minute counter at 10 o’clock with 5- and 10-minute intervals specifically colored to measure the countdown of a race.
Equipped with a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, the Oceanmaster Chronograph also helps keep track of time in longer races. Prices range from CHF 1050 to 1090 for the Automatic, from CHF 510 to 550 for the Quartz, and from CHF 660 to 700 for the Chronograph.
