Derivatives of it are still to this day being worn on underwater missions by members of the same Cousteau family.

It was worn by a fictitious hero, Dirk Pitt, the protagonist from Clive Cussler’s famous adventure novels which are still going strong, the latest of which, ‘’Pirate’’ is another epic deep-sea tale.

First launched in 1967, this orange-faced diver met a growing demand for high-quality diving instruments to be used by recreational scuba divers at a time when dependability and accuracy were critical to their safety.

Some five decades on and it is time to celebrate the Doxa SUB 300 (a dive watch that has become a legend in its own right) with a fitting tribute.
The Doxa Sub 300 50th Anniversary Edition is a faithful re-edition that combines all the charm and character of the original with all the technical know-how one expects from a modern Swiss dive watch from Doxa.

Like the original, its case is made from Stainless steel and measures 42.5mm in diameter with a thickness of just 13.4mm. Powering it is a Swiss made, Chronometer-Grade ETA 2824- automatic mechanical movement.

And like the original, it is equipped with Doxa’s signature ‘bead-of-rice’ Stainless steel bracelet which has an old-school-style taper from 22mm to 20mm where a diver’s safety clasp that includes a wetsuit extension can be found.

Then there is Doxa’s iconic adaptation of the US Navy’s maximum no-decompression table which has been engraved and then painted onto its rotational divers bezel with their hallmark bright orange paint.

Even the Sapphire crystal has been designed in such a way as to reflect the look and feel of the original’s Plexiglas acrylic crystal with a double-dome. As Jeremy Clarkson would put it, this is likely to cause much dribbling! ;)

The Doxa Sub 300 50th Anniversary Edition comes in a Limited Edition of just 300 pieces in 3 variants: Professional (orange), Sharkhunter (black) or Searambler (silver).
Doxa is offering a special PRE-ORDER price of 1990USD until November 28th after which its full price will be 2490USD. his model is available to pre-order until November 28th.
