By TLex This is the new C60 Trident Chronograph Pro 600 from Christopher Ward. Last year CW re-engineered the Trident collection delivering one or two new technical advances. This year, a young Swiss watch designer named, Adrian Buchmann has joined the British brand - his first major brief was to give the Trident a radical new look; so what do we think; has he achieved it?
The design clearly shares the instantly recognizable Trident DNA, however your eye is immediately drawn to the bold deep navy and metallic yellow dial in particular, the 60 seconds sub-dial at the 9-o’clock position – a design inspired by a scuba divers regulator - which 'breathes' via a rotating disc behind a cut-out display!
Last year’s technical advances were specifically developed with the needs of the professional diver in mind, the unidirectional ceramic bezel has been enhanced by the addition of a full minute-track and a more robustly defined font for the numerals, which are filled with high-grade Swiss SuperLuminova™ for greater luminosity.
The C60 Trident Chronograph Pro 600 has also been engineered to resist water at up to depths of 600 meters (2000 feet) the fluid contours of the Trident’s 43mm case, which also incorporates an automatic Helium Escape Valve, surround one of the most reliable and robust of chronograph movements, the automatic ETA Valjoux 7750.
Further incremental enhancements include a new ergonomically designed caseback, with the edges of its flowing contours now chamfered and softened, blending elegantly with the redesigned rotating ceramic bezel – while giving a far more comfortable ride against your wrist.
The C60 Trident Chronograph Pro 600 is offered with the option of a stainless steel bracelet (£1455) or a newly-designed, color-matched rubber strap (£1395) with embossed wave pattern and is available on Pre-order for delivery in early March, exclusively from CHRISTOPHER WARD
