DEEP BLUE Watches DEEP STAR 1000

By TLex Here’s a look at a really great looking new model from Deep Blue Watches, the Deep Star 1000, their take an the classic 60s cushion case diver!

And immediately, I love the fact that DB have included a crown guard on a cushion case – it works well. I can’t think offhand of anyone else who has put a crown guard on a cushion case. I’ve seen the crown recessed into the side of the case, but mostly people keep it old school.

The Deep Star 100’s vintage styling cues don’t begin and end with its beautifully radial-brushed 45mm 316L Stainless Steel Case – DB have also included a neat-looking vintage-style chapter-ring and a sun-ray dial with square ‘’mirror’’ markers and stick hands – all with vintage-green SuperLuminova.

But this wouldn’t be a DB if it wasn’t endowed with all the latest and greatest divers features, so here they are: a Sapphire crystal, a ceramic-120 click lumed unidirectional divers bezel with blue BGW9 SLN,

a recessed Helium Escape Valve (9 o’clock) and a water-resistance to – you guessed it, 1000m thanks to a screwdown crown and caseback. The caseback features this cool kind of abstract-looking diver.

A Stainless steel Shark Mesh Bracelet with a Push-Button deploy and divers safety insures that the Deep Star 100 is kept securely on your wrist at all times.

Powering the Deep Star 1000 is a Japanese made automatic mechanical movement, the Miyota 9015 caliber with 24 jewels beating at 28800 VPH. The watch is shown here in two color-ways; black or blue – love ‘em both! MSRP is 999USD.

  1. Sure wish DB would put out something in the 40mm range. All of their cases are 45mm+, too big for me. Beautiful watch, though. Like their use of tritium.
