By TLex French watch-maker, specializing in military watches, MATWATCHES have released a new Limited Edition UTC Naval Aviation watch that features a second 24-hour time-zone. It was developed in partnership with military pilots from the US Navy, the US Marine Corps and US Air Force.
US Navy Pilot, Jerry and French Army Pilot, Vincent, MATWATCHES' technical advisers took a special care to all details during the development of the watch. Although they are military pilots, they wanted a watch that could also be worn as diver.
Divers features include: a Stainless steel case with a Sapphire crystal with anti-glare treatment on its inside, a water-resistance to 200 meters, 660 feet, a unidirectional rotational divers bezel with 60 minutes engraved plus BGW9 luminous dot, and a screwdown crown and caseback.
Pilots features include: a second 24-hour time zone with triangle at 12 and horizon in white for the hours of the day. Further features include: a Swiss automatic movement Ref. ETA 2893-2 with elaborate finishing, hands with BGW9 SNL and reinforced spring-bars.
A really nice looking watch! Sure there are one or two design cues such as the engraved bezel markers, and stenciled hour-markers that recall, or are at least reminiscent of one or two well-known Swiss areomarine watches, but this still very much has its own MATWATCHES identity!
The UTC Naval Aviation comes in a limited series of 150 watches with a choice of three different dial versions. It is delivered with 3 straps and a tool to exchange the straps. Follow the link to see the UTC model in 3D! Read more HERE, order HERE . . .
