BREITLING Avenger Seawolf Blacksteel CHRONO Águila Real MEXICANA

By TLex Breitling have partnered with Mexican artist, Francisco Toledo to help re-popularize Mexico's great national emblem, the royal eagle. Francisco Toledo, who has for many years been a major driving force in Mexico's social work is also one of Mexico's most important contemporary artists, dedicating his life to advancing the arts and helping out those who are less fortunate.

Of the features peculiar to the special edition watch are chronograph dial markers in the tri-colors of Mexican flag plus an exclusive case back engraving created by Toledo, a further tribute to the royal Mexican eagle. The watch is based on the Avenger Seawolf Chrono Blacksteel Limited Edition watch, which boasts a carbon nitride-based Blacksteel treatment. It is also the only chronograph that is water-resistant and fully operational at a depth of 1,000 meters (3,300 ft).

This unprecedented technical feat is based on the principle of the magnetic pushpiece, a patented technology exclusive to Breitling, which enables the user to activate the chronograph controls without any direct contact between the pushpiece and the movement. In other words, the function is controlled through the metal of the case.

The Seawolf Chrono is a high-performance chronograph, the Breitling B 13 automatic mechanical movement (based ETA Valjoux 7750) with chronograph and date complications and a power rreserve of 42 hours.. Its sturdy steel case is equipped with a screw-locked crown and a decompression valve. The bezel, crown and push'pieces are easy to handle, even when wearing gloves. Oversized hands and a glar-proofed sapphire crystal guarantee optimal readability in all circumstances.

The watch was officially unveiled on October 24th at the Tamayo Museum, which proceeded a silent auction donated to the FMCN project (the Mexican Natural Conservation Fund). The watches are available from Masters Joyeros and Berger Joyeros jewelers in Mexico City plus some other jewelers in Baja California Sur, Puebla, Jalisco and Quintana Roo priced 7'000USD.
