EDOX SkyDiver Military Limited Edition BRONZE

The Edox SKYDIVER is back and this time it’s BRONZE!

Based on a mysterious, nay spurious drawing found in Edox’s historic archives dating back to the early 70s, the Skydiver is the brand’s take on the iconic Submariner.

This time round the fabled Skydiver gets a new bronze case protected by an anti-fingerprint nano-coating whatever the heck that is?

And in an attempt to shy away from the watch’s obvious derivative style, it even has a new hour hand; Edox’s play on the iconic Mercedes hour hand.

The new Limited Edition SkyDiver Military is powered by an automatic three-hand Swiss movement caliber 80, Sellita SW200 base.

Diver’s features include: a 2mm-thick AR-treated Sapphire crystal, 300m of water-resistance, a new scratch-resistant ceramic diver’s bezel and a parachute motif-engraved Stainless steel case-back.

The bronze case is offset by a graduated black dial (with Superluminova X1 on its hands and indexes) and black leather strap. An additional brown leather strap is also included.

Like the historic / fictional model from 1973, the new SkyDiver Military is a strictly Limited Edition to 555 pieces. It comes in a leather roll-pouch.

Thoughts of course we should take the story with a large pinch of salt, but there is kinda’ cheekiness to the Skydiver that appeals –

and yes the style is highly derivative but just look their version of the iconic Mercedes hand, it's pretty cool.

The only thing (back story aside) that leaves me scratching my head is this anti-fingerprint nano-coating cos’ Edox say the watch will still get a patina. How’s that gonna’ work?
