By TLex I couldn’t resist posting this handsome non-diver, today! It’s a new model from Manufacture, Vacheron Constantin from their nautical ‘Overseas’ family. It has a water-resistance of 150 meters and its movement is anti-magnetic protection certified to 25,000 A/m (compared with the standard 4,000 A/m) thanks to a soft iron Faraday cage. Besides this it’s blue ;)
Its case, which measures 42mm x 12.45mm is in Stainless steel with a polished and satin finish. It is fitted with an AR-treated Sapphire crystal. Its solid caseback is engraved with the ‘Overseas’ medallion featuring the Amerigo Vespucci ship with its 3 masts.
The Overseas Blue Chrono sports a lovely blue lacquered dial with white painted hour markers, blue snailed sub-dials with rhodium plated diamond-polished filets and hands and hour-markers in 18kt white gold with white luminescent material.
The watch is powered by an in-house Vacheron caliber 1137 automatic movement with 27 jewels, 21,600 vph and a power reserve of 40 hours. The column wheel chronograph features a big date complication.
It is presented on either a dark blue vulcanized rubber strap or a dark blue hand-stitched, alligator strap with a Stainless steel triple blade folding clasp with dual security buttons. The new Blue Chrono Ref. 49150/000A-9745will be available exclusively in the United States and from Vacheron Constantin boutiques from late 2013, before making its worldwide appearance from summer 2014 onwards.
