Bell & Ross BR 03-92 DIVER BLACK MATTE [CERAMIC]

BELL & ROSS has introduced a new model to their BR 03-92 diver family.

The BR 03-92 is unique in the diver genre in that is based on an aircraft instrument panel a hallmark of B&R who famously produce high-end military and aviation watches that are based on aircraft instrument panels.

The BR 03-92 Diver family was first introduced by B&R in 2017, who hadn’t made a dedicated diver’s watch for almost 10yrs.

The BR 03-92 Diver Ceramic AKA Diver Black Matte has been entirely clad in a deep matte black ceramic coating.

The matte black ceramic coating that the new watch uses the same type used in world of aeronautics, specifically in space, where ceramic is predominantly used in manufacturing parts that are subjected to extremely high temperatures, acid attacks, corrosion and erosion.

As a result, it is found in products such as thermal shields and aerospace rocket’s noses. Closer to earth, my car’s exhaust tips are also ceramic coated.

Bell & Ross has reworked the high-tech ceramic and developed a special manufacturing process in its workshops.

It enhances the intrinsic qualities of this material, which is virtually scratch-proof, pleasant to wear, soft to the touch and thermo-regulated, instantly reaching body temperature when worn.

Almost as tough as a diamond, the high-tech ceramic developed by Bell & Ross is incredibly hardwearing, non-deformable, lighter than steel and hypoallergenic.

Reminiscent of the anti-reflective finish used on aircraft instrument panels, the matte black ceramic is perfectly suits a diver’s watch.

The simple design, black dial, large white numerals, shape of the hands and photoluminescent coating allow immediate reading of the time, in broad daylight as well in darkness.

Basic spec. includes: a B&R caliber BR-CAL.302 automatic mechanical movement, a Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and 300m of water-resistance.

The 42 mm in diameter watch case is equipped with a matte black ceramic unidirectional diver’s ceramic bezel with a 60-minute scale.

Its black dial is with metal applique skeleton SuperLumiNova filled numerals and indices, while a woven black rubber and ultra-resilient black synthetic fabric strap keeps the watch secured to your wrist.

Thoughts? The watch looks absolutely killer. I really appreciate the use of ceramic rather than the more ubiquitous DLC or PVD coatings; and BTW the diver dude looks awesome – there should be a strap in the same color as his suit; where is it?
