LUMINOX Navy SEAL 3501 Limited Edition GOLD SET

According to the 17th Century, French poet and playwright, Molière – “Gold makes the ugly beautiful”.

I would have to agree because let’s face it; the Luminox Navy SEAL is unlikely to win any beauty contests any time soon.



But what a difference a splash of Gold has made to this unconventional, Lego-like military diver. It’s (help me out here) what’s the current vernacular - lit? fire?

That it is not to say that it hasn’t always been a cool piece of kit – it has and it is. I am the proud owner of a PAIR of Navy SEAL 3500s, myself.



However this is actually a very desirable looking watch – so why have Luminox decided to pimp their legendary SEAL watch?

Luminox say that it’s a celebration of the Gold itself which is why they have gone as far as limiting the number of these Gold Navy SEALs to 1680 pieces.



This is a reference to Phi (Φ) which is approximately 1.618, the Golden Ratio, a number that comes from the division of a line into two parts so that the longer part divided by the smaller part is equal to the whole length divided by the longer part - capisce?



The Navy SEAL 3500 Gold LE features a 45mm case made from tough, light and incredibly durable, CARBONOX™. It is water-resistant to 200 meters.

The watch comes with two straps, one black rubber and one black NATO with Gold buckle and keepers.



Further Gold touches can be found on the hands, the crown, the first 20 mins on the diver’s bezel, the case-back, and the 24hr numbers on the dial, there’re even Gold outlines on Luminox logo at 12 o’clock.



The case-back is with engraved gold; limited-edition number as well as the Navy SEAL insignia, known as the SEAL Trident, which is given to all SEALs who complete their Basic Underwater Demolition (BUD/S) training.

The insignia is actually four symbols in one — the golden eagle symbolizes the SEALs’ competence in the air; the pistol, the SEALs’ ability on land; the trident for the SEALs’ dominance in the sea; and the anchor represents the Navy itself.



Like any Luminox Navy SEAL, this watch is officially licensed by the Department of the US Navy and created with input from active-duty US Navy SEALs.

It is built to withstand anything and everything, and it incorporates Luminox’s Light Technology, good for up to 25 years.
