MeisterSinger SALTHORA Meta X

MeisterSinger have applied their famous one-handed jumping hour system to a divers watch and the result is indeed cool but even better, it has the possibility of being the perfect system for quick and efficient reading of dive-time and without any chance of ambiguity either.



If somehow you have never comes across MeisterSinger, before – they only make one-handed watches. These use a single hand to indicate the minutes while the hour is displayed in a circular window at 12 o’clock that changes instantaneously and with incredible precision every 60 minutes.



This is the Salthora Meta X based on the Salthora but now boasting a rugged crown protector on the side of its case, with SuperLuminova hour markers, and above all with a striking, unidirectional rotational divers bezel made of Zirconia ceramic.



Combine these design features with a robust 43mm Stainless steel case, a domed Sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown, a solid Stainless steel case-back fixed via 6 screws, and a water-resistance up to 200 meters and we have the makings of a very capable divers watch.



The Salthora Meta X is powered by a Swiss automatic movement. The elaborate mechanics, that allow each of the hours to jump precisely into the window and in a flash every 60 minutes, were exclusively designed for MeisterSinger.



The tension required for the actuating lever of the hour disk is built up in the course of 60 minutes by a snail attached to the minute wheel. Hence, power is not withdrawn suddenly from the mainspring barrel, but continually, which only influences the workings to a minimal degree.



The Salthora Meta X is available in three different versions: the first is a black dial, a red hand and red digits on a white background. The second model is designed with green digits and a green hand. The third version comes with its dial and rotating bezel in deep blue with white digits.



All three models are supplied with a rubber-coated, waterproof leather strap. A Milanese mesh bracelet is also available.



This is a pretty cool concept – we all know that the minute-hand on a dive watch is the only hand that is important as it combined with the bezel is how dive-time is read –



however if they could have just beefed up the minute and a little more and perhaps even offered a version with an orange hand then this watch would be perfect.
