In addition to being 3.3 times lighter than Titanium and 5.8 times lighter than Steel, Breitlight® offers exceptional resistance to scratching, traction and salt-water corrosion, thermal stability, as well as anti-magnetic and non-allergenic properties. It is also warmer to the touch than metal and has a slightly mottled effect.
The Colt Skyracer is fitted with a thermos-compensated SuperQuartz™ movement, which is ten times more accurate than standard Quartz and chronometer-certified by the COSC Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute.
It offers excellent legibility thanks to white luminescent hands and markers that stand out against the black background which sports red accents and a Sapphire crystal glare-proofing on both sides.
It also offers shock-resistance thanks to substantial reinforcements surrounding its screw-down, rubber-molded crown, and a protruding bezel gasket which perfectly protect the crystal from any hard knocks.
Finally the Colt Skyracer is equipped with a rotating rider tab divers bezel and a dial with an additional 24-hour military-scale. As well as being water-resistant to 100m, it is also distinguished by its exclusive black rubber strap bearing various measurement scales that are useful for all kinds of adventurers.
There is a 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 scale on the 12 o’clock strap section, centimeters and inches on the 6 o’clock section and a clever detachable fastening system that enables its wearer to quickly and easily remove the section of their choice and use it as a measuring instrument, before easily reattaching it.
This is a special watch for Breitling as it is a state-of-the-art model that combines reliable technical features with an original design but an extremely reasonable price. It isn't really a diver but there is no denying its youthful and adventurous spirit. What do you think?
