HALDOR Armis with HHC [armored tool diver]

After the huge success of their debut diver’s model, the ABISSI – HALDOR Watches have released their second diver’s model – an armor-plated tool diver known as the Armis.

HALDOR’s engineers have not only worked on the design of the Armis, but have turned their attention to the very fabric that is used for the construction of it and its components.

316L Stainless steel or perhaps even Titanium is considered to be among the best materials available for the construction of dive watches.

However even the toughest Marine Grade Stainless steel or Titanium (especially so) are prone to scratches. We’ve all experienced that dreaded moment when your new diver receives its first knock or scratch. Ouch!

If you wear your dive watch like it’s supposed to be worn – for diving and such; then it’s only a matter of time before the rigors of an active life take their toll on it –

this is why HALDOR Watches’ engineers have developed, HHC (HALDOR Hard Coating), a special hardening process designed to increase both the hardness and scratch-resistance of steel.

The process creates a hardened shield approximately 25microns deep on the upper layer of the steel – increasing its hardness to 2000HV (Vickers).

This is up to 7 times harder than regular Stainless steel! The hardening process is applied before the steel cools, creating a protective layer over the steel.

In addition to the increased hardness, the use of HHC Technology also allows the surface of the watch to become significantly more resistant to scratches. HHC can also be applied to Titanium.

The sandblasted, HHC treated 316L Marine Grade, Stainless steel case of the Armis doesn’t just have a protective outer skin –

its solid architecture and the use of double gaskets for its case-back provide up 2000 meters of water-resistance. This has been officially certified by an independent Swiss testing laboratory.

The Armis is also shock-resistant, and thanks to a Faraday Cage surrounding its movement has Magnetic Field Resistance up to 4.800 ampere per meter (A/m).

Securely housed inside the HHC treated case of the Armis is a Swiss Made 25 jewel, ETA 2824-2 with Top Grade accuracy beating 28.800 vibrations per hour.

As well as its 200atm of pressure-resistance, further divers features of the Armis include: a 7mm in diameter screw-down crown,

a screw-down case-back with Armis Shield design, a 4.5mm thick, (inner) AR-coated anti-scratch, Sapphire crystal and an automatic Helium Escape Valve located at 9 o’clock on the case.

BGW9 Swiss SuperLuminova has been generously applied to the hands and dial marking of the Armis as well as the 12hr marker of its 120-click unidirectional rotational diver’s bezel.

Dimensions include: a diameter of 42mm (excl. crown), a lug-to-lug of 50mm, a thickness of 14.9mm and 22mm wide drilled lugs.

In addition to the HHC Treated Stainless steel bracelet, the Armis is supplied with an additional Italian made rubber diver’s strap.
